I'm an Apprentice Chef, on a journey to becoming a Chef. Thanks for coming on the trip with me!
I've been involved with the food service industry since 1999, working in Fine Dining and Family Style restaurants - in both Bedford and Halifax, Nova Scotia.
I graduated from the two-year Culinary Arts program at the NSCC Akerley Campus Sobeys Culinary Institute in 2007 - I loved the program and found my passion. I was honoured to be selected as a Sous Chef for the NSCC Touch of Class student showcase at the end of the year.
In 2007, I had the opportunity to return to my hometown of Winnipeg, Manitoba for my NSCC work placement. I trained and learned under World Master Chef Takashi Murikami, of the St. Charles Golf and Country Club.
I have also had the privilege of working alongside some of Halifax’s most respected Chefs including Ray Bear and Sean Kettley, and Chef Instructors Nic Cameron and Deb Connors. My education, training and work experiences all influence my styles of cooking, dishes and menus.
I currently am an Apprentice Chef at Bear Restuarant in Halifax, some mornings you can find me cooking at The Wooden Monkey, and I have a very part-time catering company called Relax Dinner Parties.
Thanks for stopping by - love feedback - Adam
